Welcome to the Applied Microfluidics & Bioengineering (AMB) Lab

We are an interdisciplinary research group at Monash University, developing microfluidic technologies for applications in cell biology, translational medicine, and environmental science. We apply principles of small-scale fluid mechanics, integrated with fundamental concepts of cell biology, to understand biological systems at the single-cell level and develop nature-inspired solutions for our long-standing health and environmental challenges. The techniques we use include microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip methods, microscopy, image processing, micro-particle image velocimetry (µ-PIV), computational modelling, electrokinetics, and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
